Dear Parents/Carers, 

I am writing to let you know of my decision to retire at the end of this term. 

It is a decision that I have been pondering for some time and having recently become a grandparent now seems the right time to do it. 

I have been at the school since 1992 when I joined the English Department as second in charge and have served as Head Teacher since 2005. Over that time, I have worked with some fantastic people, both staff and students. I will remember them all with fondness.  

It has also been my pleasure to work with the families of our young people who have supported their children and the school in making sure that they achieve their potential. I know that you will continue to work in partnership with my successor whoever that may be.
